Cameroon deports 450 Nigerians to avert possible attack
A total of 450 foreign nationals -most of whom are Nigerians- living illegally in Cameroon have been deported by the country’s immigration authorities.
According to reports, this proactive measure was to avert likely attack by the Boko Haram sect currently wreaking havoc in Northern Nigeria.
In a report by Africa Review, a Kenyan digital news platform, the Nigerians affected were picked up from Kousseri, a border town between Cameroon and Chad and handed over to government officials in Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria.

President Buhari says the end of Boko Haram is in sight
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that Nigeria is close to ending attacks from Boko Haram in spite of recent attacks by the group in some parts of the North, a statement said in Abuja on Wednesday, July 7.
The statement was issued by Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
It
said the president made the statement while conveying his sincere and
heartfelt condolences to all Nigerians who lost relations in the latest
terrorist attacks in Jos, Kano, and Zaria.
"The
president is convinced that with recent increases in troops’
deployment, improvements in the supply of arms and equipment to the
military, as well as the ongoing effort to mobilise greater
international cooperation and support, the end of Boko Haram and
terrorism in Nigeria is in sight.
37 teachers died in Kaduna bomb blast - NUT president
The National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Micheal Olukoya, says that 37 teachers died in the bomb incident that rocked Sabongari in Kaduna state yesterday July 7th.
The teachers were at the state secretariat to partake in the verification exercise initiated by the government to weed off ghost workers.
