Oil marketers call off strike, to begin lifting fuel in 6 hours


The current fuel scarcity in Nigeria is finally nearing an end as oil marketers in the country have agreed to call off their strike.

The decision was reached on Monday, May 25, 2015, after a meeting between the marketers and the Federal Government.

The meeting was called by the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream and downstream) in a bid to resolve the crisis.

The Students' Week of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos State, has been a five years running platform for all students of the institution to mingle together, express our feelings, share ideas and relate with one another, and these we have been able to achieve since its inception.

Man smuggles oil into the US in wine bottles, gets probation

A German citizen who is a chemist and lives in Hawaii was sentenced on Thursday to 3 years of probation for smuggling oil that's commonly used to make ecstasy.

Wolfgang Hans Langlois put safrole oil in wine bottles hidden in household items he shipped from Germany to Kauai, Honolulu last year. Customs agents intercepted the shipment and found the oil, which is legal but requires special permission to import.

Langlois pleaded guilty to smuggling but maintains the oil was not for ecstasy but for a legal substance he wanted to make for his wife, who has cancer

Bloodbath in Igando as police, pipeline vandals clash


Over 20 armed vandals on Wednesday, May 13, reportedly stormed Igando area of Lagos to burst two pipelines.

It was reported that some of the vandals concentrated on bursting two underground pipelines while others were strategically positioned in the swamp to keep possible obstruction at bay.
