Comedians Bovi, AY, OmoBaba, MC Abbey and over 25 others will on January 1, 2015 join Alibaba in entertaining guests at the maiden edition of Ali Baba January 1^st concert holding at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

As part of the activities lined up for the night, comedians will take turns reviewing major events of 2014 and roast-toast some selected popular personalities. Joining the comedians are pop stars, D’banj, Waje, Omawumi, Yemi Alade, HarrySong who will be adding colour and pomp to the concert with exciting musical performances.

The show will also witness the award of scholarships to some 1^st class graduates as well as special recognition of 8 Nigerians who are pioneers in various fields.

Malala wins Nobel Peace Prize, vows to fight on

Malala Yousafzai vowed Wednesday to struggle for every child's right to go to school as she became the youngest ever Nobel laureate, sharing the Peace Prize with Indian campaigner Kailash Satyarthi.

"I will continue this fight until I see every child in school," the 17-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl told an audience in Oslo City Hall after receiving the award.

Malala became a global icon after she was shot and nearly killed by the Taliban in October 2012 for insisting that girls had a right to an education.

In a speech peppered with self-deprecating humour, she used the award ceremony to call not just for education but also for fairness and peace.

Bomb Explodes in Kano Market Today

A bomb reportedly went off in Kano this afternoon. Eye-witnesses say the blast happened at Filin Parking in Kantin Kwari Market in Kano around 3: 30pm. Kantin Kwari market is said to be one of the largest markets in Kano.
 
BBC reports that “a blast hit a vehicle loading area at the Kantin Kwari textile market. Boko Haram militants are suspected of carrying out the attack.”

According to reports, two explosions occurred. At least seven people have been confirmed dead, and 30 injured.

It's finally here! Tunde kelani’s ‘Dazzling Mirage' set to premier November 7

After one year of anticipation, the latest movie from Nigeria's iconic Tunde Kelani is set to hit the cinemas. 'Dazzling Mirage' will premiere on 7 November at the Muson Centre in Onikan, Lagos.

The love story is written by Ade Solanke and is an adaptation of Yinka Egbokhare's novel of the same title. It traces the life of a sickle cell sufferer, running through betrayal and denial, but focused on helping the public understand what sickle cell really means, for the people affected by it.
